Free Ski and Snowboard Lessons
Some of you may not know that I’m a ski and snowboard instructor, I am, I’ve been teaching at Pebble Creek for about 15 years.
In my drive to improve my teaching and provide student-centered ski and snowboard lessons, I’m missing a piece of the puzzle as the end of the season approaches. Students!
Now maybe you are thinking about golf, or gardening, or numerous other hobbies, but the snow is still great, here’s my attempt to encourage you to get out and enjoy it before it is gone.
To remedy this shortage of students this time of year, I’ve decided to offer you a completely FREE half hour ski or snowboard lesson at Pebble Creek. (subject to fitting it into my schedule). This short lesson would be ideal for an intermediate or advanced skier or rider that feels like they are at a plateau. Due to safety concerns, I’ll ask that you have skiied or snowboarded before, I won’t have time to get you safely down in a half-hour your first time, there is just too much to cover!
Combine this with twilight skiing at Pebble Creek, and you have an incredible deal. (though there are only a couple days left for 2007-2008, plan on it for next year) I plan on keeping this offer open indefinitely unless it becomes too hard to schedule or impacts paying customers.
How do you claim your magnificent prize?
Contact me by email at learn.to.snowboard@gmail.com, with your contact information and the best time to get a hold of you (and maybe some idea of when you would like your lesson)
If you aren’t interested, but know someone who might be, spread the word. Tell your kids, sister, neighbors, whoever you want to share the joy of skiing or snowboarding with.
What do I get out of it?
- I get to meet interesting new people, some of them potential clients.
- I get to help new you learn or increase your enjoyment of a new sport, enjoy the outdoors, and perhaps change your life!
- I’d like to help you learn safely and reduce the risk on injury.
- I’d like to encourage you to take additional lessons, and I only have half an hour to convince you of the value of it, so we’ll get right to business.
- If I do a fantastic job, and you feel guilty about getting this for nothing, I will graciously accept your tips. (though none are expected or required)
- I get to show off my awesome mountain, and my mad instructing skillz.
- An excuse to go up to the mountain
What do I ask in return?
- That you show up with a good attitude
- Do your best to get some decent, modern equipment, to improve you change for learning
(I’ll help with adjusting or make recommendations if I feel equipment is holding you back) - You consider letting me add your name by my client email list, so I can keep track of you and let you know about great deals
- Don’t sue me… I’ll do my best to make sure you don’t get hurt and have a good time, but I can’t control every possible variable and there is a certain level of risk.
Here’s the fine print:
- This would not be ideal for a first time lesson, as it can take more that 1/2 hour to get the basics and get you down safely. I’ll have to limit it to people who have skied or snowboarded before, sorry!
- I’m busy and work for a living outside the ski area, so you may have to been fairly flexible to schedule this. It has to fit within my schedule.
- I can’t offer this at other areas, unless you want to pay for my lift ticket and transportation, then we’ll talk.
- I can only offer this one time per person
- Due to my busy schedule, I must limit it to half and hour
- I’m an AASI certified, Level II snowboard instructor, and a PSIA certified Level I Alpine Ski instructor, and am ACE (children’s) accredited
- Pebble Creek is not sponsoring or involved in this offer in any way, though I will encourage you to take additional lessons through the Winter Sports School there
- Pebble is only scheduled to be open through this coming weekend, March 30, 2008, but the snow it still good so watch their webpage for announcements in April (usually open Friday-Sunday in April as snow permits).
